But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Blessed is the man that trusts in the LORD, and whose hope the Lord is. 8. Curriculum
OIS uses a Biblically Based Education curriculum. The Accelerated Christian Education Curriculum (ACE) has been in existence for more than 40 years and is internationally recognized. It is a unique teaching system with an individualized learning methodology; which is Progress motivated individualized Programmed Learning, that meets each child’s educational needs at their level of performance/potential. This allows students to learn at their own Pace which ensures mastery of the subject material. With the learner-centered approach, many learner differences can be taken into account, learners can work at their own pace at the time most convenient to them; different learning styles can be accommodated; learners are more in control of how and what they learn and learning is active and not passive.
At OIS, the curriculum is Self-Paced, with each student progressing through the Paces at their own rate. They set their own goals daily, detailing how much they can complete in each of their subjects. In addition, students do self-assessment, which is tied to personal goals.
Also, students benefit from the inbuilt training in Godliness and individual accountability; from the Word of God and the Biblical principles inculcated into the system that develops character in the individual. Students work in core subjects which include Mathematics, English, Literature, Word Building, Social studies(which includes World History, World Geography or European History for higher classes), Science(which include Biology, chemistry, and physics), and other subjects like Computer studies and Art etc. The children work with the help of professional, Spirit filled, dedicated, caring and experienced teachers; who work as Supervisors and Monitors in the Learning Centers and skill classes.
All learning at OIS takes place from a Christian point of view, with a holistic approach. Teaching is based on character (60 character traits of Jesus), morals and traditional values that underpin all aspects of a student’s learning and life in general.
In addition to the above; OIS emphasizes training the students with both hard/practical and soft skills. This ensures that when the learner leaves OIS they will be prepared for life; ready to take on the world of work, community and ministry.

OIS is a small Christian School that was started about five years ago out of a Homeschool by individuals who are passionate about Education, and had been homeschooling their children using the Ace curriculum for about 10 years..
Friends and other parents who had seen this kind of approach, wanted their children to have what the homeschooled children were experiencing with the ACE curriculum.
As one by one came along, OIS was born starting with preschool to grade 12 to cater for those little ones who were starting school then and also embrace the older students who were from homeschool.
Also, the school was intended to provide an alternate curriculum that fosters spiritual nurturing and growth through a Bible Based Education with scripture embedded in the material the children are learning. This is in agreement with the scripture from Psalm 119:11 “Your word have I hid in my heart, that I may not sin against you.”
The school aims at dealing with each child as an individual, because each one of them in unique and matters in the eyes of God. Therefore; for the last four years, the school has had an outstanding reputation for caring, team working with both the young and older children.
This facilitates peer learning, as students seek help and learn from each other, in academics, skill and extracurricular activities, like sports, Art and craft, and Science Engineering, etc.
In addition both teachers and students have opportunities of working and playing together during different activities, /projects which facilitates mentorship. Children look forward to coming to school.
Children are also involved in different activities which help them develop their personal interest and talents. They learn and play different instruments like guitar, violin, piano, and get involved with other platform events like drama, singing, poetry recitation, scripture and much more.
At OIS, we aim at helping each child develop self-confidence and a high self-esteem, through encouragement, respect, and a conducive atmosphere.
