Parent Involvement
PARENT INVOLVEMENT
At OIS we believe that education of children is primarily the responsibility of parents; and we aim at involving parents in school. Parents are a valuable asset to the school, as the school co-parents with them, as they have are representative on the school board, get involved in the Sports day, Parents Prayer meetings, Parents Seminars, Parents Conferencing and many other areas of school life. The school appreciates the parents’ involvement in the school activities and in the lives and education of their child/children.
The students engage in different sports activities like football, volley ball, and other organized games every Friday for about 1hr. Children play on their own throughout the week
The School Annual Sports day takes place in August where students compete in different sports with fellow students and parents.
In addition to academic work; skill is one of the very important aspects of fully equipping the students at OIS in a holistic way.
Students learn skill in the different clubs that they engage in each term.
Some of these are the Arts and Craft Club, Worship One/Music Club, Etiquette Club, Science Engineering Club (with Fundi Bots), a Creative Writing Club, and different Platform events club, academic games like Chess and Monopoly.
Students are trained in soft skills like public speaking, conflict resolution and self-governance.
